WOULD YOUR PARENTS ACCEPT THE PERSON YOU LOVE?
-
1 in 4 people in the UK say they would be uncomfortable if their child was dating a Muslim
-
1 in 5 people in the UK say they would be uncomfortable if their child was dating a black person
-
Any child in the UK with two parents has a 50% chance of having a parent who wouldn't accept the person they love purely because of that person's race
TOGETHER, WE CAN CHANGE THIS
It's human nature to fear the unknown, and with only around 7% of relationships in the UK being interracial, it's no surprise that poor attitudes towards interracial relationships is such a big issue. Throughout the UK, intolerance towards interracial relationships is indicative of communities that alienate and exclude people from ethnic minorities, affecting relationships between families, friends, and peers.

The solution? Share images, stories, videos of interracial relationships - challenges the prejudices of the 1 in 4 that wouldn't accept their own child's partner because of their race by showing them stories of love between humans of different races, so that when they see interracial couples in real life, they don't see something that is unnatural or concerning, they see something wholesome and beautiful.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
SHARE YOUR STORY
COVER THE STREETS
If you are in an interracial relationship, you can help fight stereotypes, combat peoples prejudices and normalise relationships like the one you have by sharing funny / romantic / cute stories from your relationship. With your help, we can show people that interracial relationships should be as celebrated as all other relationships.

Print out as many of our posters / stickers as you can and put them up in your windows or in the streets or (with permission) in shops and business. The more we can share the love of interracial relationships, the more people will be used to seeing them.
